The founder of the company, Bernhard Mikulski, turned his idea into reality in 1971:

At the southern edge of the Westerwald, he launched his own company, Pop-Import, which he continuously expanded into an independent record distribution business.

Renamed in 1992 to ZYX Music, the company is now among the leading independent record companies in Europe. Since the founder and CEO’s passing in 1997, his wife, Christa Mikulski, has been leading the group, which includes its own distribution, a logistics center, and music publishing.
